Electronic Beats Radio X Cat People

Servus, this is ur boy Trrbo speaking. Newly I’m part of this producer gang called Cat People. And we just did a radio session for Electronic Beats Radio which turned out pretty worth listening to it. There are tons of our own productions, a few unreleased tunes from known producers like Joy O’s “Sicko Cell” as well as lots of new bass-driven club music. You could say the genre is House but we named it Futuristic Space Crunk. See the original post on Electronic Beats here and download it here.

Well, we hope you like it.
Tracklist can be found after the jump….

boiler #16: Mike Gao

July. 30 degrees. Cold beer. Ladies in bikinis. Ice cream. Summer in the city! Nontheless it’s been a while. Time for some boiler action! We are pleased to announce the guest of our 16th session on the 22nd of July: Mike Gao from Los Angeles, California!

Mike has been in the beat scene since the early beginning. Having won his first beat battles in 2005 he went on from there and released music on labels such as Alpha Pup and All City Records. There is also a forthcoming release on Berlin based label Project Mooncircle this summer. Mike was also one of the first to perform at the famous Low End Theory Club in Los Angeles next to artists such as Flying Lotus, Exile and Nosaj Thing. In addition to his solo projects he also enjoys working with MCs such as Luckyiam, Mestizo and Qwel by producing them, providing beats or supporting them on tour. Mike is also a huge music technology geek. An iPhone App for automatic beatbox detection is just one of the many interesting and forward thinking creations he has provided. Pursuing his PhD Computer Music at the University of California in San Diego he will also hold a talk at the International Computer Music Conference in Huddersfield this year.

Nontheless a boiler night is about music in the first place. So to give you a glimpse on what you can expect on this session, please check Mike’s latest release “Sun Shadows” right below. It has been released on Alpha Pup Records.

In addition to this special live performance we’ll also have the boiler crew in full effect again. Support will be provided by Jay Scarlett, Larkin And The Sky, Trrbo, tom2k and SLOMOO. This boiler session will take place at Import/Export, Goethestr. 30. Doors 23:00, 7€. Looking forward to see y’all bounce!

New Sounds by Trrbo and Bartellow

boiler possy keepin’ up the productivity! First off some new Trrbo ish’, a remix of Big Dope P’s “Let Me Flush That”. Once again Jakob teamed up with fellow producer Kleimheist to form: Cat People. Nice & Smooth in your Face.

Second track is a Bartellow jam featuring fellow musicians Lukas Rabe and Amadéii, recorded live at the Springhouse Festival in Dresden. Ready for some heavy trippin?

More of this to come, so better stay tuned!

boiler #14: famLay Jam / Trrbo joins boiler

May is arriving, and after a short boiler break due to our beloved state of Bavaria’s Tanzverbot, we are back! And we got some good news right away, as the boiler family just got itself a new member! We are very pleased to welcome this guy: Trrbo!

The producer and Dj, originally from Berlin and now based here in Munich, is a guy everyone would want on his team. Talented, charming and always with a smile on his face he rocks the decks as if there was no tomorrow! Having played a remarkable role in the global bass scene with his former project Tim Turbo, he is now following his new passion. Packed with more future bass influences in his sets and productions, he seems to be ready to cross some lines! Be sure to keep an eye on this man, you won’t have much of a chance to get around him anyway. Here’s two of his latest releases, a remix of Madeline Puckette’s Everything Is Alright on Globelle and another remix for Gappy Ranks in collaboration with fellow producer Cat People.

To celebrate this addition he will perform right away at the next boiler session. Next to Jakob joining us we’re also happy to welcome back Daniel aka Larkin And The Sky, who is now back in business with all the inspiration he could gather during his little trip to India. Dj Re$us and LawOne will complete our nice little family jam on that thursday.

So be there when exciting happens! Doors open 10pm at Crux Club, Ledererstr. 3. See you there!

Rollin III: Jamie XX *CANCELED*

May is looking good! Next to our boiler Sessions at the Crux there will also be a Rollin session taking place at our new home. And this one’s gonna be a wicked one, for sure. Dear Munich fam, in collaboration with Der Kongress we present: Jamie XX from London, UK!

Most of you will probably have heard of this man as it’s hard to actually miss out on him these days. All over the place right now, on top of the game, if you wanna say. Having caused serious impact with his indie band “The XX” during the last two years, he also stepped up as a solo artist in the competitive London music scene. Remixing is his game and within short time this 20 year old has put down an impressive portfolio of tracks that are getting spinned in clubs all over the globe. Above all of course his genre defining collaboration with spoken-workd legend Gil Scott Heron, where he managed to link Heron’s warm and soulful lyrics with his very own experimental electronic approach. Call it post dubstep, future bass, wobble garage – doesn’t really matter. Besides producing he also seems to be on the road 24/7, performing at parties like Boiler Room London (check out his recent appearance) or festivals like Melt and Elevate, just to name a few.

So of course Munich can’t be left out! We are happy to bring Jamie to the city on May 20th. Make sure you get your ticket early in order to avoid disappointment!

To give you a preview on the madness that awaits you, enjoy this 30 minute mix he did for Benji B’s Radio 1 show. Pure filth.

Supporting on that night will be provided Teengirl Fantasy, Jay Scarlett, TrRBO, Demint and Manufaktur. Looks like a crazy loong friday. Don’t miss this, buy your tix & see you there!
